Native Habitat: Central
Africa: Congo & Zaire (Congo River basin). Shallow areas of streams,
pools & swamps in rainforest. The Zaire River drainage south & east of
Kinshasa & southern Congo, the lower Kasai River & Pool Malebo.
Temperament: Very peaceful and shy.
Feeding: Some flake foods high in protein and
adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as
grindal worms,
white worms,
Daphnia,
Moina, and newly
hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing: Male
is colorful and female is drab brown and smaller
General Comment: Not
recommended for first killifish. Lifespan is 4 years A little more difficult to keep, breed
and raise. Fry are very tiny and require green water.
